Frostbit Hike - 14JAN17 with the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House
35 brave souls ventured outside today with cooler temperatures (31 degrees F) and the hint of sleet to join the Susquehanna Lockhouse Museum and the Havre de Grace Green Team with trail founder "Joe K" on the 2017 Frostbit Trail Hike.
A continuing educational series, hikers were treated to local history, geology, and botanical lore during the 1.5 mile hike from the Lock House around the loop under the old B&O Railroad Crossing (CSX) and Hatem Bridge. Lots of winter scenery and a high tide brought some serious oooh's and ahhh's from the group.
This trail is rated for people of all ages, but is better with an experienced guide, follow the blazes from the Lockhouse at 817 Conestego Great fun, copious amounts of sunshine, and a lot of learning was had by all!
